The way this goes is that as the verdicts are announced I post them, so youll have to hit refresh every now and then to see how the Idols are fairing.
Tonight we'll find out the names of the first three contestants to make it into the finalists from group one. Who will be sent through? Who will be sent home? Who will cry? Who will be abused by Kyle? Who will be celebrating at the end of the night?
We'll find out all of this tonight... but if Josh gets through I'll be rather pissed off.
Thank God this is only a 30 minute show!

YES, well, the Idolblog poll results was SO CLOSE, two out of three which isn't too bad, and I'm pretty glad that Tarni made it through.

ok. i take back everything i said about group 2.
i posted screen caps of the round two contestants.
my predictions for this one:
roxane and david are gonna tank, and be blasted by the judges. milly, victoria and rocky as top 3 (with laura rounding out the top 4). beyond the top few, they don't look promising (so no wildcards from this group)
catherine looks very good but i have no idea about her voice. i don't think we've seen much of her yet. hopefully she's a bikini-model in her spare time and we'll get all the goss during "inside idol."
I think that Catherine Vasilakis might just end up in the top 3 this week, that's my tip, her voice and good looks might see her through.
if she has a good voice, i'd put her top 4: milly, rocky plus either catherine or victoria.
does laura have a decent voice?
kate i'm not sure i've ever seen before.
it's a strange mix this week.
i'm not usually one to vote for anything. she might've need a thousand votes. maybe it would be better to meet her one day and give her $500 cash instead.
mark's comments about irene (that she doesnt have a good recording voice) are a bit unfair. i listened to all the performances back as mp3s, and her voice is better than i thought, except for maybe during the chorus.
who produced Casey's album? (was it mark?) i was listening to that as well, and her voice is completely flat and lifeless. maybe having a "good recording voice" isn't even a compliment.

I would have liked to see Irene, Chris and Anne through (man she is good!) . Am glad Tarni beat Josh but she picks weird songs. There are some cool rock pop songs she could sing to make herself more appealing......though obviously she does not need to if she beat Josh.
I think Irene will get a wildcard though Mark did not think much of her. Why oh why did you have to prance around so much and sing that god awful song Irene?

that GOD AWFUL SONG was actually sang by the Diana DeGarmo during American Idol a couple of years ago in a Gloria Estefan themed show.
what's more, that GOD AWFUL SONG was sang by Emelia last year in round 9 during the disco show. emelia did not pull the song off, and was sent away that week.
might explain why she sang it, it's an IDOL song, as Idols sing it.
Hated it when Diana sang it, hated it when Emelia sang it, hate it even when Gloria Estefan sings it (and I lurv Gloria).
If Irene had had the benefit of your analysis DJ and my disgust at the song maybe she wouldn't have sang it.
It is as GOD AWFUL as 'signed sealed delivered'.
GOD AWFUL SONG will not an idol make. But hey what do I know sitting in comfortable obscurity presuming to judge others. She took a risk and it didn't pay off. Pity because I actually really wanted Irene in the top 12. WILDCARD pls!! :)
seth's version of "signed sealed delivered" was fine with me, apart from the way he kept singing "yours" as "youuueuuuuuuuuuusuaseuouosuiiiiioooou". not once could you tell what the word was supposed to be.
i don't mind irene's song either. irene performance was definitely the most fun to watch and listen to. that's why i think she's this years ricki-lee. her voice may not be formally trained to perfection, but she's FUN! plus she looks awesome even when she's just standing there. she's everything that casey is not.
how many times would you have voted? it'd have had to beat the votes that Josh got...
