Casey's Weight Crisis! There are serious concerns for the health and wellbring of last year's Ausralian Idol 2 winner Casey Donovan when her appearence at a recent awards ceremony revealed a distinct weight gain. The 17yr old songstress was clearly struggling with her long-running body battle when she performed at the 2005 Deadly Awards at the Sydney Opera House. Casey picked up two oh the night's most prestigious gongs - for Artist ans Single Of The Year - but her joy was tempered by concern from health experts that the extra kilos she's piled on are threating both her health and career. Dressed in a sparkling strapless gown , the starlet's once-celebrated curves had clearly expanded , prompting fears she's dangerously overweight and at risk of obesity-related health problems. The teen's plus-size figure was the subject of much praise when she won Idol last year. But while curvy Casey was originally celebrated as a refreshing change to the stick-thin celebrity norm , her weight has skyrocketed since the show - and the concern now is less about her image and more about her general wellbeing. Dietician Arlene Normand believes the teenager is at great risk of developing severe health problems because of her size. " Casey's weight falls into the morbidly obese range , " the dietician tells. "This has serious implications for her health. It can lead to diabetes , joint problems , heart disease and high blood pressure , to name but a few." Unfortunately" adds Arlene, " it can also impact on her self-esteem and can eventually lead to depression." Arlene estimates the singer weighs more than 120kg and through major lifestyle changes. After the Idol show finished, Casey vowed to take better care of herself, saying she lost weight "just to be healthier" while living in the Idol house and that she would shed even more kilos after the hysteria of the competition was over. " Once I start to slow down, I can really start to think about losing weight" she told NW on the eve of the final. "I'm going to do it for myself." Sadly, it seems the young star has given up on her fight to lose weight and is falling into the grip of obesity. Casey's weight battle has been well documented since she shot to pop stardom on Australian Idol. She once admitted to eating Cherry Ripes for breakfast and shocked fans when she revealed the full extent of her unhealthy diet. "I'm a teenager - we like to eat," she said late last year. "I dont like vegetables that much, so I dont eat a lot of them. I'm not much of a chocolate person, but I eat a lot of fast food."The singer, who says she's tried unsuccessfully to lose weight in the past, admits to feeling hurt and angry after she was taunted for being fat during the competition. But the defiant teen has repeatedly vowed to remain true to herself, and refuses to bow to pressure to be stick thin, instead saying she wants to slim down in a bid to take better care of her body. "People always have an image in their head - you have to be tall, skinny, blonde hair, blue eyes. That's the way it is.[But] people have to learn to change," she says.
"I would not respond at all if someone asked me to change my diet to suit my new popstar role. People voted for me for who I am, so I dont see why I should change."
The singer has continually rejected advice about her frame. But now it seems it's time to tackle her weight and diet issues.

As you might know I am a Huge fan of Casey Donovan's and I support her all the way! I'm scared but I know she will pull through her dieting.

So what do you think. Dont be nasty about it either!!

She will pull through her diet issue...

Mabye she just has to walk abit more...

And mabye gave up a bit of the things she has at night

EXAMPLE: you know the little things like stop drinking the entire soda fizzy drink bottle every night with some chocolate biscuits... i think if she has that once a week it could help...

I'M NOT RYING TO INSULT HER CAUSE I LOVE CASEY, but their just some small advices, which can help her.

I love Casey... i read that article in that magazine.

I personally think she should do what she wants to do... because if she is put under more pressure she will have more problems to face...

So we should let her decide on what she wants to do and one day she may want to lose weight... I think it's just a matter of time...

But i believe Casey shouldbe true to herself and we should allow her to do what she wants because at the end of the day she wants to be her just like we want to be us.
