lee is not a particularly good singer or anything, but he is the best in the competition at the moment. not a great compliment, by the way.

Actually I think the opposite - Emily didnt win coz Australia is racist. Why someone that good would lose to a golden haired girl says it all. Australia just wont accept a Kiwi girl whose heritage is Samoan. Its ok for guys to be ethnic (ie Random, Guy) because its seen as sexy/exotic.....but not for females! Emily's talent got completely overlooked because she wasn't a typical blond aussie and didn't get sympathy for being teased by Kyle about her 'tuckshop lady' arms!!
and Newsflash - the ethnic contestants you refer to were 'born in the place' and therefore very much 'Australian'
Your way of thinking is on the racist mentallity, so sick of all the excuses, especially going down to that level, how dare you call Australians racists as an excuse for Emily not winning. The best vocalist won, Emily had a bad night last Sunday, simple and true.
the fact that you're not even willing to entertain the idea makes you seem uneducated, so i will dumb it down for you - Emily got 3 touchdowns compared to zero for kate, who never really impressed the judges. Emily was consistent each and every week, and sang the better version of the winner's single sunday! She clearly deserved to win, but from what ive been hearing people wanted a 'true blue' aussie country girl, implying that emily is not this!! Get it now???
it doesn't matter how he looks. i reckon it's the talent that's count. so lee should have gone way before Natalie... Dan should have stayed in... i voted for Dan last week but wasn't enough!!!
Dan was miles ahead of Lee and the others, as a muscian and singer, he should never have left, but hey what to do that is the mind set, but I will probably be berated for this, I really think that there is a lot of NZ voters for Emily, and I can;t deny she is not bad, but she is not that good either, as far as Kate goes, she has her followers, but he last three performances were not that good.
To see someone like Dan England voted of ahead of Lee and Emily is repugnant.
I admit that Dan is not bad and far ahead from Lee.... But i really dont feel that he's better than Emily. Especially his performance, he looks so unnatural. Everytime he just showed the same hand style when he was singing. His eyes always cant concentrate on the camera and staring around like very nervous. His voice is good, but lack of singing skill like Emily does......
Anyway, i am quite happy actually the real top three now are Dan, Emily and Anne or Kate... but i would like Anne more since Kate performance are quite average whole way through.
You are right friend his performances physically were not as visually pleasing, but he did have the best vocals for sure, but if you want to compare Lee's performance to Emily makes her look the same, Dan was a muscian, and unfortunatey the rules were that he was not allowed to use a musican instument in his performances which would have given him an unfair advantage over the others, so whilst others were better with the body and not the voice and as a musician they were more pleasing.
It remains to be seen does it not. But I think it is great that he had this exposure and he will get some work out of it.
As much as I like Kate's sound to Emily I just don't think that she is idol material, Emily fits the bill as it is at the moment. Lee will last for awhile and if he is clever he will take any oppotunity given him in other fields of television that will give him a career of longevity, he I think wont last that long as a recording artist, but certainly has the charisma and personality to achieve in other areas.
