I am so shocked to read all the hate stuff going on in this chat session. A friend of mine said that the reason why Emily didn't win is because Australians are racist , that's why Anthony Callea didn't have a chance and either did Emily - i was kind of shocked to hear this come from her - cos i didn't think that was the case at all - but after reading the above posts - I'm starting to change my mind and we are both as Australian as you'll ever get. C'mon guys - lets just appreciate that the world has great talent - no matter where they are from!
I HATE EMILY!!! She can't even sing, everyone today was like "oh emily should have won, kate can't sing" and i'm just like neither can emily you losers. all she does is stand there and screech for about five minutes, and stupid mark mistakes that for a real music note and gives her a touchdown...emily makes me sick! so glad she didn't win.

Emily was totally robbed!! Everyone's going on about 'true blue aussie' this, and go the former fat girl looking so good, go the dags of Australia etc etc. It makes me sick. And you could tell Mark Holden was quite disapppointed with the result.
While Kate has talent, she got ZERO touchdowns compared to THREE for Emily, who was arguably the best vocalist and performer out of the whole lot, let alone against Kate. Emily was consistent each and every week and has an amazing powerful voice, and delivered the best version of the winner's single on Sunday night.
I think this is a RACIAL thing. Why someone that good would lose it to a golden-haired girl says it all. Australia just won't accept a Kiwi girl whose heritage is Samoan. Its ok for guys to be ethnic (ie Random winning X Factor, Guy winning Idol) because its seen as sexy/exotic...but not for females! Emily's talent got completely overlooked because she wasn't a typical blond aussie and didnt get sympathy for being teased by Kyle about her 'tuckshop lady' arms!!
I know this is probably too full-on for people to read but I just had to have my say...Im really disappointed in Australia. I had finally gotten over the BB result where the most deserved winner was robbed because Australia loves boring gits with no substance or personality...and now this happens!!

Although I hate saying this about anyone, you truly sound like a little uneducated pathetic person who can not even be true to an obvious fact that Emily Williams is a very talented lady who can reach the realms (assuming you're even able to understand that word) of some of the most amazing singers today including Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. At least recognise that, don't spread hate for no reason and do yourself some justice by not sounding like a complete fool. In any event, as a massive fan of Emily's, I am still honest enough to say that even though Emily was my absolute favourite to win Idol, Kate is still a good singer, however in my opinion, not comparable to Emily who I feel deserved to win because of the great personality she has shown throughout the competition, loving nature to her kids and overall amazing talent.
Why don't you try to focus on the good and not try to spread hate for what I am sure is a stupid schoolish attempt to look good (instead you really look like a fool). Grow up.

This is not NZ it is Australia, and the last time I looked NZ was not a state of Australia. Emily is good and did well, but this is and should never be anything but Australian, wheather they are a background of any country, it does not matter, but if you are not an Australian citizen you have not buisness to complain or enter the idol as far as many are concerned, has nothing to do with colour or race, but has everthing to do with patriotism as you yourself said YOU DID NZ PROUD, so quit having ago at us, and be happy for Emily, she was allowed to enter our idol comp; and get a record deal I am sure she is grateful, so she is pleased with coming second you are not because all you can see is her beating an Aussie, youre more worried about her loosing than she is, give youre idol credit and stop the sport in all the comp; it is not a football match, and worked out best for both girls, hope they both do well.

I was a big big fan of emily once until one day she came in to my shop for bread. she was so damn cocky n rude. I am glad that she didnt win the aust idol, she didnt deserve to win. I think the reason she hasnt released any album til now is cause she is so too ugly; look and personality.
