Wildcards Voting Information...

After a weeks worth of semi finals, almost enough to overdose on the Judges have given us 8 names of hopefuls that have one more chance to make it through to the finals. These Wildcards have one last chance to impress the judges and you, the public and that's what tonight's all about, this is their last ditch attempt to stay in the competition for 2006.

So, who will fail, who wil succeed, who will impress Kyle now that only two of them have breasts, who will impress Mark with their emotions and who will get Marcia to say "Be Yourself" the first time?

Who will you vote for?

Why are there only 2 chicks?

Song Choice: Lonely No More - This Love

Dj's comments:

Brendan's chosen to deliver a medley for tonight's performance, which in itself is interesting. He's delivered this performance with greater ease than his previous performance, but I'm not sure if it's enough to convince the Judges and audience... Not enough power in teh words.

Judges Comments:

Mark:

Doing a medley is gutsey and risky, congratulations. To me it was still pitchy, the risk didnt pay off.

Marcia:

You sat in the pocket as far as I'm concerned, you did a damn good job.

Kyle:

I like you, I think that was pretty cool but it was still only a five, I was waiting for the magic and it never came.

Song Choice: My girl by 4 Tops

Dj's comments:

What the @#$% is with these song choices? Nathaniel and his all white suit and hey hey hair doo look completely out of place on stage, but he still seems to be getting some chick attention. There were elements of pitch problems, but for the most part of it the vocals were ok. And is that a flavour saver he's got growing on his chin? I think he'll get votes but ugh...

Judges Comments:

Mark:

Last week I really loved the surprise of how you did Vertigo, and when you're in form your voice is sweet as honey. There were no surprises tonight but there were pitch problems.

Marcia:

When you handed out the rose Mark smiled... I really did enjoy that.

Kyle:

I still really enjoyed that, I like you.

Song Choice: Red Neck Woman

Dj's comments:

I'm a bit dissapointed with Klancie's choice of top tonight, but she's really looking pretty tonight... She's pitchy but really enjoying being on stage and singing tonight, she doesn't look as nervous as she has done previously which is good. This is actually a better performance than Brendan's and Nathaniels before which is a surprise, perhaps Klancie could be the chick they let through to watch her grow through the competition?

Judges Comments:

Mark:

At the start I was worried about your confidence but somewhere along the way you gathered in confidence. Is Australia ready for a Country and Western Idol?

Marcia:

I really like your energy and how fresh you are. Great Job.

Kyle:

I haaaaaate country and western music, I think you've converted me over. You've flipped me, I'm loving it.

Song Choice: I Wish by Stevie Wonder

Dj's comments:

So, another Stevie Wonder song? I'm not sure if Christ started out a little flat, but he's stopped bouncing around as much as he did last performance, perhaps his dancing is his worst characteristic. Vocally he seems all over the place, but it's still sounding nice, it's certainly more fun than Brendan and Nathaniel..

Judges Comments:

Mark:

I liked the arrangement too, that you started in the jazz an thten tripped it up. You are so intense, it's a cool thing but you make performing look difficult.

Marcia:

One of the greatest things about this show this year is the individual talent, I might steal some of that act for when I sing it. I dug it.

Kyle:

Superb vocal and people should be voting on that alone, I love the whole Thunderbird thing you've got going on, I like it... but vocally superb and that's the main thing for now.

  • Guy Mutton Phone: 1902 5555 65 / SMS MUTTO to 191010

Song Choice: Black Fingernails Red Wine by Eskimo Joe

Dj's comments:

I like Mutto's song choices, he's put on a beanie to hide his hair from Kyle and MArk, he took the stage with a microphone standing in the middle of the stage which is very different from the last performance. Vocally he's spot on and really suits this song and doesnt miss a beat. I must admit, I've seen Mutto with his band Soulframe and really enjoyed their live gigs, he's got a maturity about him that should see him through. That was the first performance of the night that was not pitchy at all.

Judges Comments:

Mark:

i don't know what to think about that, I really dig you but I'm confused, I dig you, I dig that your experience and emotions shows but that performance didn't hit the mark for me. You totally gave it respect but it didnt quite nail it for me...

Marcia:

I sit here in awe sometimes because I reckon that was one of the most intense and fantastic rock performances that I've ever heard on this show. That was great.

Kyle:

I'm sitting in a very different zone from Marcia and I know that I'm sick and grumpy tonight, I think that was an average job of a great song, I'm with Mark.

Song Choice: On My Mind by Powderfinger

Dj's comments:

I think Amanda tries too hard to get the ROWL from Mark, and that might be the failure in this performance, I think the public will revolt if they have to see Mark rowl all the time, it's sickening. Vocally she's husky and very similar to the last performance, high in energy she's definately a rock chick good performance though.

Judges Comments:

Mark:

It's good to see you at least trying to work the camera, but you've still got some work to do. I wonder if you're a real rock chick or if you're playing at being a rock chick.

Marcia:

I love the way that you work your songs, you did a great job.

Kyle:

For me the whole act is a tryhard thing, I think you're picking the wrong songs and need to think about the songs that you're picking, I'm not convinced.

----

Song Choice: Caught Up by Usher

Dj's comments:

I think Ricky needs to be in this competition or Sony BMG will can teh series, he's the only opportunity they have for an RnB vocalist this year, and he's a taller version of Anthony Callea. Vocally this is a strong performance and he knows how to dance on teh stage too, there are points in which I think he's about to piss his pants or something because his face screws up so much, but a good performance.

Judges Comments:

Mark:

There is so very little melody in that song and I think you needed to deliver light and shade and you didn't deliver light n shade to me, but you look great.

Marcia:

Mr Intense, you're intense but it's all good, this is really really really important to you isn't it? I believe you can go quite far in this competition and I happen to be a huge fan of Usher's you were very lucky with that, choose your songs more carefully though, but you did a great job.

Kyle:

I agree with Mark and Marcia, that is a hard song to do, but I want to hear some melody.

Song Choice: Holy Grail by Hunters an Collectors

Dj's comments:

I like Chris, but this song started way to slow for me, still his vocals were spot on for the entire gig. One thing that he didn't do well is use the stage or the camera's I wonder if he just wanted to take command of the stage, which I don't think he did too well, I wanted more energy in that song... Perhaos it's how it translated between the studio and my television.

Judges Comments:

Mark:

Chose a great song Chris. I reckon you've earnt your position where you are right now, you're confident, you controlled the stage, you enjoyed it, you controlled your voice really well.

Marcia:

It's great to see a performer that chooses their song and their movement and look natural.

Kyle:

You're very natural and I'm in love with you, I don't think that you've done anything that I've not thought is good enough.

Who will make it through tomorrow????

If it were up to me my choices for the four from this group would be Chris M, Ricky, Guy and a choice between Klancie and Chris G, I wonder what we'll see happen tomorrow night.

Verdict in my opinion:Chris

Verdict in my opinion:

Chris M: 8/10. good song choice, could do more with getting the audience invovled but overall, preformed well.

Nathaniel: 4 and a half/10. poor song choice, sang alright, but nothing spectacular in the performance.

Amanda: 2/10. Didn't do nothing excellent, was pitchy in areas, wrong song choice. Needs to find right style of music.

Guy: 3 and a half/10. this song alone, i dislike. but with guy singing it i dislike it even more. i should of recorded his version of the song, it will be an excellent way of making me sleep faster.

Chris G: 5 and a half/10. he did well, but his audience rating IS VERY LOW ! the song was well chosen and would like to see him progress.

Ricky: 5 and a half/10. he sang okay ! it was boring, his voice is to fake ! i want to hear him do something that would blow the place down !

Brendon: 3 and a half/10. he should be happy with the score i gave him, i think i went too kind on him. Poor song choice, thats what made his score very low.

Klancie: 5 and a half/10. it was a good song choice, but didnt sing as well as last time, it was pitchy aswell.

From the verdict above i believe the following will go through

- Chris M

- Chris G

- Klancie

- Ricky

I believe Australia would vote for / the judges will chose

- Chris M

- Ricky

- Guy

- Chris G

Well, it doesnt bother me who gets through, as long as Chris M does, because by far he was the best singer from tonights group !
